Great Oak Lodge is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and external workers to share this commitment. This begins with our administration and recruitment. Our process is thorough and always adheres to the safer recruitment policy, so here is a simple breakdown on what to expect on your recruitment journey.

1. About you

So, you have seen and applied to a job that ticks all your boxes. You have started your recruitment journey! We will contact you to complete a ‘pre-screen’ and get to know you.

2. Interview

We have reviewed and assessed your application and pre-screen and made the decision to invite you for an interview. Good luck!

3. Compliance

Success! Congrats on passing your interview. We will send you an ‘Employment Pack’ to complete.

4. Pre-Employment Check

Our recruitment team will begin to complete the pre-employment checks, including DBS, References, Right to Work, ID Documents, Occupational Health Checks etc.

5. Specialised training

Once fully compliant with our HR and recruitment team, you will be assigned specialised training with our training partners, IKON as well as assigned eLearning and other face to face courses.

6. Contract

Once you have completed and passed your training, you will be given your contract.

7. Final check

The HR and Recruitment team will complete their final checks, ensuring you are fully compliant and ready to work.

8. Start date

The home manager will speak to you directly and agree a formal start date and plan for your induction.
